The 12th of October.  Ugh, another day of irritation. I wasn't going to bother trying to do anything about my deliveries today because the guy is just obviously incapable of delivering on Mondays or something, but then Uniqlo and LoveKnitting both replied to my tweets so I thought it was worth having them investigate.

Things started off well, with companies sending emails, LoveKnitting even refunded my delivery charge, but actually we've had no further progress. Uniqlo's customer service team claim that two unsuccessful delivery attempts were made because there's no safe place to leave the parcel. Unfortunately, this is bullshit, because I was in all day and no one even rang the bell, let alone put a card through the door, and even if I were out, I have a porch where stuff can be left. Since then, they have been supposedly investigating it but I've heard nothing. Frankly, I'm appalled at the whole thing and i won't be shopping at either place unless I knew the stuff won't be delivered by Hermes. I really have no idea if the guy will try to deliver the things tomorrow or not.

At least my rage fuelled my workout in the gym this afternoon. It's the first time I've been for about a fortnight so I'm expecting to be stiff tomorrow.

The 13th of October.

The saga is over. I spent my morning watching TV and constantly checking the Hermes delivery itinerary, looking up every time I heard a car or van go past, gently simmering with rage. Finally, around noon, I heard footsteps coming down the drive and answered the door to Gail, our usual Hermes delivery person (and ex-next door neighbour). Basically, she had been away for four days, and the person who'd been covering her area was totally inept, and she was very apologetic. I let my feelings about the cover person known, and she took it on board.

I let Uniqlo and LoveKnitting know, and set about finishing my fluffy snood! Mommy came home from shopping with Grandma, we had lunch, then had somewhat of a Criminal Minds marathon while I crocheted and she cross-stitched. It's now finished and will keep my face and neck very warm, which is going to apparently be necessary - the "Siberian swan" is coming and it's going to be a freezing cold winter. So it's a good thing I've got my thermals now!
