The 15th & 16th; Is there anything sadder than doing absolutely nothing for one's birthday?

 The 15th of January.

Oh god, so much Brexit. The news has just been wall to wall bullshitting so I've done my best to avoid it.

This morning, that was pretty easy, because I went to Black Sheep so the new Senior Colour Technician, Gemma, could use me to teach one of her apprentices how to do tints/toners. So now my hair colour is fresh, and it was free!

When I got back, I wrote up a blog post, then discovered that I hadn't actually posted the last one I typed up. Don't know why I didn't get around to that, but I posted both and all is well.

After lunch, I got back to my knitting while I sat on hold to Uniqlo for an hour. When someone finally picked up, I just gave him my case number, he put me back on hold for a few minutes, and it has been decided that yes, my parcel is lost. They only have one item left in stock, so I've just asked them to refund the whole thing. What a saga!

The 16th of January.

I have spent pretty much my whole day doing two things: knitting and watching The Strain.

Mommy and Daddy went out this morning to do some shopping, then this afternoon she was at Grandma's and he was doing whatever he does on the computer, so I was free to binge on Guillermo del Toro.

Therefore, I have sat and watched Mr. Filch from Harry Potter kill parasitic vampires while knitting my baby raglan jumper. Finished the front, and nearly completed the first sleeve too.

I'm trying to decide what I want to do for my birthday. If I want to do anything. It's hard to come up with a way to celebrate when all my friends are so spread out and busy, there isn't anywhere I really want to go to eat or anything, when I'm not feeling particularly optimistic about the year ahead. But is there anything sadder than doing absolutely nothing for one's birthday? I hate feeling so ambivalent about it.
