In one of the stars I shall be living.

The 3rd & 4th; I love them already.

The 3rd of August.

Today has not gone as I expected!

I thought I'd probably spend it working on Sadie's data, because I wasn't going to the gym again (ooh boy my muscles are protesting) and frankly, apart from putting up a blog post, I didn't really have anything else to do!

That plan got scuppered early doors, because I got a text from Shaki at about half past nine asking me if I wanted four very friendly kittens. Obviously my answer was of course when do you need us to take them? The response to that was today, but what time was vague - some time this afternoon, after she'd been to the vet with another cat. So this morning, we prepared the room for the floofs, I iced some cupcakes (there was a summer fete on at Grandma's care home that Mommy had promised to bake for), and wrote up my blog post. I was then just on the laptop trying to work out if I could do something with the search function, when Poonam, the optician from Piccadilly rang. I'd phoned them the other day to see if she had any advice about which omega 3 supplement might be the best to take. Mr. Kolli wants me to take 3g a day, which is a lot, and the one that he said is the best is rather expensive. We talked it through, and having looked at all of the options, I have gone for some from Holland and Barrett that is just omega 3 and very good value for money considering I can buy one jar and get another for a penny.

By the end of that call, it was lunchtime, and Shaki had informed me that she was coming at half past one, so I needed to eat before she arrived. She was very prompt, and brought me four lovely little tabby kitties - Barnaby, Bertie, Brooke and Blue. They are just as she described, happy friendly little floofs who want to say hello and explore and rub their faces on your face. She ended up staying for about an hour and a half because we can just talk endlessly, so we had a rant about all of the terrible things in the world right now, plus there are some new CP procedures and paperwork that I needed to know about. Such fun.

After she'd left, Christine and I went to sit with them and we watched A Simple Favor because it's appeared on Netflix and I really wanted to see that, but it came out just when I got ill last year. The clothes are so incredibly beautiful, I wish I could wear them all. For a while, they ran around investigating things, then Blue and Brooke fell asleep on my lap, while the other two did the same under the chair. I love them already.

The 4th of August.

Fucking hell, my eye is killing me.

This morning, it was a bit pink, but not causing me pain. Christine spent the majority of the morning with the kittens, and I didn't want to steal any of their attention so I only went in to say hello to them briefly. Instead, I watched Sunday Brunch, did about two rows of knitting, then Daddy informed me that the coffee machine is basically broken, so we had to start researching a replacement.

However, there wasn't much time to do that, because we had to be at Grandma's for twelve because we were going out for family Sunday lunch at the Bistrot Pierre in Mere Green. After going to the one in Birmingham and liking it, we hoped that this one would be of a similar standard.

Thankfully, the food was very tasty. I don't think I could have coped if it had been shit alongside my eye getting angry. I had sea bass with green beans and courgetti, then sticky toffee pudding, and it was all very delicious, but the pain started at a low level just before we went in, and it escalated quickly enough for me to be screwing up my face by the time our food came. While we waited for our pudding, I got Christine to squeeze my hand so hard it would hurt enough to distract me from the eye pain.

As soon as we were finished, I begged for us to just leave, because it was unbearable. Daddy dropped me and Christine off first, then took Grandma back. We got inside, and immediately shut all the curtains. Then I did all the eye drops possible, and put on my cold eye mask. The pain has slowly decreased as the afternoon has turned into evening, and I think by bedtime, it might be okay.
