The 6th of June. An eventful day! I woke up to an almost immediate power cut which lasted for about an hour and a half, so I had to have bread and flora for breakfast. Felt like I was in an orphanage or something. Thankfully, because of me, we are on the priority list, so I think we were one of the first properties to get our power back, and the company rang later on to check that we were okay.
After reading all of the paper and having lunch, we had a family outing to a mobility centre in Dudley where they sell the Foldawheel so I could try it out before we spent all the money. I tried it and two others that can be taken apart but weigh a lot more and take up a lot of space. I had a whizz round the showroom and out in the car park a bit, and I am pleased to say I was right. Every other chair feels much bigger, makes me feel a bit like a robot, more disabled than I actually am, and feel like they encroach upon others' personal space.
It'll be delivered on Tuesday or Wednesday. The donor wants to remain anonymous, but it's safe to say it's known how grateful I am to them and everyone who originally donated, whose money has now been returned. I'm so happy and excited.
The 7th of June.
Having been hunched over for the past couple of weeks coughing, I literally can no longer stand up straight. I spent a good half an hour on the floor trying to stretch myself out this morning but it wasn't very successful, I'm still walking a bit like Quasimodo.
After lunch, Mommy washed my hair, then the afternoon has just involved watching athletics and trying to shift into more comfortable positions. This doesn't bode well for my chiropractic appointment tomorrow.
Tonight is the Channel 4 Comedy Gala so it'll be fun to share what Christine, Kim and I saw with my parents. Also interesting to see how it's been edited.
That is all, really! I really miss the gym, I need to get better and start working out again. At least I have clinic on Wednesday so if I'm still dreadful then, I am sure they'll give me something. Please.
