The 19th & 20th; Christmas prep.

The 19th & 20th; Christmas prep.

The 19th of November.

Ugh, I woke up at six, couldn't go back to sleep, and when I sat up, it was cold, despite my having heard the heating come on. Rude.

This morning, I put up a blog post, having finished it in bed while I was sitting up being cold, then moved on to searching the Paperchase website for Christmas cards. It took me ages, because so many of them are for a particular person, e.g. Mum, Dad, sister, brother, wife, etcetera. I found four that I liked, but there were two people that I didn't really feel any were appropriate for, so I went to another website where I found two good ones which made me smile, and I think that's a good test of a Christmas card. Now they are all ordered, so even if I'm not doing brilliantly on the present front, I've ticked off one thing on the Christmas prep list.

After lunch, and a couple of episodes of shows on the TiVo box that have built up when we've been watching I'm a Celebrity, I went upstairs for some Dark Time. I finished Sunday's Ed and Matthew, then listened to Electioncast. I don't get tired of that clip of Lorraine telling Jennifer Arcuri what she thought of her. Heroic.

Daddy was out at the cinema seeing Le Mans '66, which I am not bothered about, so the kitty room was available for me to go and finish watching The I-Land. I'm glad I know how it ended and the mystery is solved, but it's not a good show. So much of it doesn't make sense, but part of me would like to know what would happen in a second season (spoiler: without the warden interfering). I very much doubt Netflix will renew it, but if they do, I might watch it if I get desperate one day.

The 20th of November.

Slept so much better last night. I woke up at the right time, and not felt the need for any naps. Naps are fun and everything, but I just don't trust them.

I think a lot of my time in the upcoming weeks will be spent doing Christmas prep. I'm wearing one of my favourite Christmas jumpers, and I reckon it's fine to wear them every day now. I can wear the Moomin one Christine bought me last year! Anyway, this morning I was back online searching for gifts. I have found another small thing for Mommy, but that's all. Not very successful. I'm now really struggling with Daddy's present. I have bought him one thing and can't find anything else that even seems like a good idea. Everything is rubbish.

After lunch, I had some Dark Time, then I went to the back room to pet the floofs. Got to give Blanche lots of extra love at the moment because we're giving her the probiotic and some worming medicine, both of which are disgusting pastes, and I can't afford for her to start hating me. This afternoon I watched The Invitation, which has been on my Netflix list for some time and I just haven't got round to it. It's meant to be kind of slow-burner suspense thriller, like Get Out, but it is just not as good as Get Out. I hoped it would be good because I love a good cult story, but that element is not fleshed out enough, so all we get is a weird video of a woman dying and the members trying to explain that it's not about death, it's about communion and some other nonsense, then one character tells the rest about how he accidentally killed his wife. To be honest, if I were Will, I would not have gone to this dinner! It gets interesting when things finally come to a head, but it feels like it takes forever to get there and it is just not worth it.

When it finished, I really had to pee, but Blanche and Bramble were both sleeping on my lap so peacefully (having made it really quite damp with some licking they had done earlier) it felt rude to get up. Eventually the need became too great, and I had to slide them both off so I could escape to the bathroom. Once I'd been in there, I went upstairs to change my jeans because they felt icky, and I didn't want to be going out to the Glee in them. Suzi tonight!
