The 26th & 27th; All that I wanted.
The 26th of December.
And once again, it is all over. I slept heavily, but today I am still very tired.
I put on my new Moomin jumper, leggings, doughnut socks (which seem to have not had heels built in so they feel weird), and toasty rechargeable corgi slippers. Even with them only on the lower setting, they are ever so warm. Very difficult to walk in though. Only for sitting.
Grandma only came for lunch today (seems like yesterday took even more out of her than it did me), so we didn't drag it out - didn't want to totally exhaust her. Today was haaaaam! Then the rest of the chocolate mousse.
This afternoon has been nice and quiet. Snuggled up in front of the fire, catching up on the Christmas Day Bake Off, Only Connect and Strictly.
Somehow I am still full, and very sleepy. I want to go to bed early, but I want to watch Agatha Christie. Decisions, decisions.
The 27th of December.
I had a tiny bit of extra sleep last night, which I think has helped me be less tired today. Plus I had a tea at Nicole's this afternoon which has probably perked me up a bit too.
This morning was fairly sedate, pootling about, trying to decide what to write about Christmas. I chose to not describe everything that happened because it might dilute the magic. It was all that I wanted, all that I needed, and that is all I want to remember.
This afternoon, I re-taught myself how to cast on and do basic knitting. I'd just about got the hang of it, then it was time for us to go and visit Nicole and meet her new kitty, Sam. He is huge and very friendly, and he chose Daddy as his favourite to fall asleep by. Mommy and I got to pet one of the other cats, Ted, who is daft. It did make me really want more kitties in our house. Still, maybe it won't be too long before we have them again, because the QE have just phoned Mommy and she's having her surgery on New Year's Eve!
