The 3rd & 4th; I am full of snot.
The 3rd of January.
Hallelujah, my cough seems to have been very short-lived. I woke up with a very painful, scratchy throat, and thought I was going to be having a horrible day. Thankfully, it has calmed down as the day's gone on, with Strepsils, so I'll keep taking those for the next day or so, just to keep it soothed.
Mommy and Daddy have been at hospital literally all afternoon, because Mommy had a post-surgery follow up appointment with the surgeon and the hand therapist. She saw the surgeon about an hour after her actual time (1.50pm), then had to wait for ages for the therapist. She came out just after half past four, then they had to drive home in rush hour traffic and stop off at M&S to get something for dinner, so they only got home just after six.
I've been fine on my own - I watched The Grim Grotto, then The Grand Budapest Hotel while knitting. I've had to pause because I need a stitching holder and we put Grandma's bag of bits away. My circular needles arrived in today's post so at some point I'll experiment with those.
The 4th of January.
Spoke too soon. Today I am full of snot. I did not sleep well, and I feel crappy. My head is enormously stuffy, and I am going through tissues like nobody's business.
Because I feel so wretched, I have just sat in front of the tv and knitted. I would have liked to have done some reading, but my brain just isn't up to it. That is one of my resolutions; to read more. I said it last year but I don't think I did it enough so I need to set aside time to actually read. My other resolutions are to get good at knitting jumpers, and to get my affairs in order. I know that last one is a bit morbid, but if September taught me anything, it's that if I do die suddenly, my family will have to deal with sorting everything out and though I'm sure they'd do a good job, I just don't think it's fair to pile that on top on them when I can do something about it now.
Anyway, this afternoon I watched the last three episodes of A Series of Unfortunate Events - usually I hate an ambiguous ending, but this one was wrapped up enough for me. I'm sad it's over.
I think the Christmas jumpers have to go away again tomorrow. Back to normal, boring knitwear.
