The 25th & 26th; I do not deviate from my brand.
The 25th of May.
If you want to skip this one, you can, it's fine. It's been a very average sort of Saturday without much to report at all.
This morning, I wrote up a blog post, watched Saturday Kitchen, and had some aluminium knitting needles delivered so I could carry on with a blanket I've been making. I was using plastic ones but they were very frustrating because the wool does not slide on and off them very easily and the plastic is kind of bendy. I know, imagine if you'd stopped reading. Think of the great knitting needle content you'd have missed.
After lunch, I went and sat with the kittens and explored Amazon Prime a bit. Tried the first episode of The Purge, and the first two of a show called Homecoming. I don't know if I can be bothered with watching the whole series - I kind of want to know what happens but I'm not gripped. I might just see if the plots are on Wikipedia.
And I've started reading a book called The Compatibility Gene. Bradley (from Anthony Nolan) lent it to me at the carol service and I really feel I ought to have read it by the time I see him in July so I can return it. Looks promising so far!
The 26th of May.
Say what you like about me, but I do not deviate from my brand. I am currently watching Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone while crocheting a Hedwig from a kit that Mommy got me from Aldi. So far, she has a head and a body.
I woke up this morning with a very weird pain in my neck/shoulder. I can only assume I slept funny because I have no other way of accounting for it. Thankfully it has not impeded me too much, despite my concerns about being able to lift the hairdryer after my hairwash. Must be different muscles.
After it was dry, I unrolled my yoga mat so I could try to do some exercises to help my core. I am just incapable of standing for more than a minute without vast amounts of pain so anything I can do to try and strengthen it, I will. Just some crunches, leg pull-ins and bridges, and I'm still pretty decent at doing the plank. Going to try and do them every morning and slowly build up.
Back downstairs, I watched Mortal Engines with Fabio and Frankie. I can see why it flopped a bit at the cinemas - it's not a great film. However, it would have made an excellent video game, so it's a shame that didn't get made. Sometimes I'd really like to get a games console, but I can see that being a slippery slope to disengaging from the real world entirely.
