The 10th & 11th; Every procedure I've ever had.
The 10th of June.
I forgot how long pre-ops take. This morning I had one scheduled for 11:25, prior to my cataract surgery next week. It was lucky that was already in the diary, or I'm not sure they would have been able to squeeze me in.
Anyway, I got there on time, and was called in to have my height, weight and blood pressure done pretty promptly, which was encouraging. However, I then waited about an hour until a nurse came and called me for the actual pre-op. It's just going through all my medical history and every procedure I've ever had, then making sure they know what all my drugs and allergies are, and that I knew it was my right eye that was being done. Had some very basic bloods done, then we were able to leave!
Got home about two o'clock, so we had some lunch, then I spent the rest of the afternoon with Fabio. I watched a film called I Am Mother, and I won't do any spoilers, but let's just say that I can understand the robot's reasoning.
I've got details of a potential adopter for Fabio, but she seems very hard to get hold of. Will keep trying. Sigh.
The 11th of June.
My eyes are really heavy this evening. Got to push through the drowsy stage of the gabapentin. It's not making any difference to my pain yet, but I haven't reached the full "minimum" dose yet (900mg per day) and it was at that stage I noticed the relief before. However, my pain is worse now so who knows how much I might get up to? You can reach 3600mg per day I think, so I've got a lot of wiggle room.
For now, I had my chiro appointment this morning. Once again, everything was fairly okay? Which is nice, just a few clicks in the spine but my neck was good! I appraised Trine of my gabapentin plans and she has her fingers crossed for me.
This morning, I planned on sitting with Fabio, but Daddy fancied watching some Black Mirror (I have been telling him how good it is) so he was in there and I ended up watching the first episode of Chernobyl. I'm trying to get involved but I'm just thinking "all of you are going to die horrible, horrible deaths". Everyone says it's really good, so I'll persevere.
Fabio has a viewing tonight! Please be good people.
