The 13th & 14th; Did not expire!
The 13th of August.
Fuck, my shoulders hurt today. When the woman in the gym yesterday was using the 2kg dumbbells, I just used the 4kg ones, and today I am suffering for it.
This morning, I wrote up a blog post, and had some brief conversation with Christine who is on holiday in Denmark. She had a cinnamon bun for breakfast like the smart person she is. We also made sure the kitty room was reasonably tidy because at 12, a woman from Cats Protection's new regional welfare team was coming to see our fostering environment and talk to us about anything we could do better or that they could help us with. She is going to email me about a couple of things that CP can support us with, like a cover for the window so it can be open but the kittens can't get out, and hopefully a Vax so we can clean the carpet better! Apart from that, she was very happy with us, and the kittens were very interested in her pad and paper and were being very cute, so I think that gave us bonus points. I have had a call from Nicole who she's visiting this evening to find out how it went and see if there was anything she needed to know, but I told her not to worry. I am sure she will be fine!
After she'd gone, we had lunch, then I had a very relaxing afternoon watching How To Get Away With Murder while finishing knitting the sleeve of my Moomin jumper that I've been working on. I'm still not sure if I can get back to the intarsia while my eyes are messed up, because that requires such intense staring. I think I will wait until I have seen Mr. Kolli on the 28th and see where we are. I feel like it's doing better now I've gone back to the antibiotic drops - I'm having a good run of days with no or very little pain so I really hope it stays that way and doesn't kick off again, as has been the previous pattern. Sigh.
The 14th of August.
It is so cold. It is August and I am wearing my fur-lined hoodie. Last night I actually put my electric blanket on. Unacceptable!
This morning, I had a hairwash and a good rummage in the bathroom and my bedroom drawers, which resulted in no moulds of my teeth. When the dentist rings, I shall have to disappoint him. It is annoying because it means if I want to do the teeth whitening, I will have to pay for new moulds and they are the expensive part. Harrumph. Then I had some kitten time, having zipped up my hoodie and tucked in the toggles, and they were all very keen on coming to say hello.
I had my programme review at the gym at 12:30, so Daddy took me down in the pissing rain. I met with Brandon, and we talked about what I want, what I have been doing, and my limitations. He wrote a plan for me, and then he was going to show me how the rear delt fly worked, but there was a guy using it so that will have to wait. Everything else I am pretty on top of, so he let me get on with it. He has started me off with hand cycling which I didn't think I would be able to do for long, but I managed the whole ten minutes and did not expire! I had a successful go at everything, and the only unpleasant part was when a man on the machine next to me smelled really bad. Thankfully, I had just alcorubbed my hands, and the one I use has aloe vera in it, so I just discreetly smelled my hand instead. Very stealth.
It was not raining quite as much when I left, but enough for scrambled eggs on toast to be an excellent lunch. Replenish what I used up. I watched an episode of The Blacklist, then went to sit with the kittens for an hour. Blue was very good and just wanted hugs, whereas Brooke and Barnaby decided to be mental. They just chased each other around and fought, then Brooke started picking up toys, carrying them around, and growling at Barnaby whenever he got near her. When Blue jumped down to investigate I took my opportunity to leave, and nobody even escaped into the bathroom!
