The 9th & 10th; I feel ghastly.
The 9th of January.
I am so cold and so tired. Last night was really bad - the Zopiclone did not work, I couldn't get the cough to abate even for a little while, and I was freezing, so today I feel ghastly.
This morning, once I'd had my breakfast and coffee, Mommy washed my hair, then I got dressed and we went to pick up Grandma. Today is her 90th birthday, so we took her for lunch at Malmaison. Haven't been there for a good few years,,so it was interesting to see how it's changed. It's always a worry when you go out for lunch mid-week that the place will be empty, but thankfully we were not the only ones dining. We decided to go for puddings instead of starters, which in hindsight was definitely the wise choice. I had confit duck and toulouse sausage stew, which was a bit dry and disappointing, then sticky toffee pudding with pecan caramel sauce and that was divine. Just what I needed.
We then took Grandma back home and cut her birthday cake so she could share it out with other residents and the carers, and now I am still trying to get warm. My slippers are charging up, I've got legwarmers over my jeans, a blanket on my lap and a shawl around my shoulders. Bed soon please.
The 10th of January.
I am a bit of a mess today. I need to take a rest from Zopiclone because I'm getting towards zombie mode. No ability to concentrate on anything, so I've been a rather useless lump.
I let myself lie in until half past nine, and spent a lot of my day looking out of the window, expecting to see the Hermes man with my shirts from Uniqlo, as they'd sent me an email confirming they would be delivered today. That obviously did not happen, so I'm going to have to phone them again tomorrow.
This afternoon, I watched My Neighbour Totoro with a hot chocolate. I blocked out the different parts of the jumper so they can be ironed and sewn together, then Mommy found the rest of her knitting needles which I sorted out, so now they're grouped together in such a way that I won't have to go rummaging to find a matching pair.
I think I'm coughing less. I'm just knackered.
