The 21st & 22nd; A very Happy Birthday for me!
The 21st of January.
It has been a very Happy Birthday for me! I had a decent sleep, then for my breakfast I had my last rainbow bagel. While I drank my coffee, I opened my cards and presents from.Mommy and Daddy. They gave me a big bag full of knitting accoutrements, such as stitch holders, pins for various purposes, stitch markers, needle huggers, and two little notebooks for scribbles.
I decided we would have a trip into town so I at least got out of the house. I had two cheques I needed to take in, so I did that, then I met Mommy in Paperchase. I had to get an anniversary card for her and Daddy, a baby shower card for Becky and James and a thank you card for Taid. I had a look around the Selfridges sale, but everything was still a bit out of my price range. We then made our to John Lewis where I got some wool, some nail varnish and mascara from Chanel, and a cashmere jumper that was in the sale. Daddy was in Foyles, so we met him in there, and I bought a book called The Wall by John Lanchester, then it was time to come home for lunch.
This afternoon, I made myself a coffee and watched Princess Mononoke while I started something with my new wool. It's been a really lovely birthday - my worries that everyone would forget were unfounded. It has certainly not been a Blue Monday for me.
The 22nd of January.
Oh, the simmering annoyance that comes with a parcel not being delivered. I ordered some stuff from Cult Beauty, that from what I can see on their website, should have been delivered today. However, Royal Mail are being absolutely useless at helping me find it. So frustrating.
This morning, I wrote up the blog post I forgot to do yesterday, then worked a little bit more on the thing I started yesterday. It's coming along nicely.
After lunch, I painted my nails using the new polish I bought yesterday. Once that has dried sufficiently, I picked up the crochet again and started on the second season of The Gifted. It's been on for three weeks now and episodes are beginning to stack up on the box.
We are going out for dinner tonight and I am having to nudge people into being ready. Get changed please. We already have to contend with the snow.
