The 19th & 20th; My spine had locked up.
The 19th of August.
Two down, two to go! Half past ten, Janine and Andrew were back to pick up Blue (now named Guthrie) and he was only too happy to go! I was able to have a little goodbye hug, and they have said I can come and visit him whenever I want. I may just take them up on that because I do really want to see how he grows up. To be honest, if I could have kept him, I think I would! I have already had photos of him exploring his new home, so I think he will be fine.
After they'd left, we put the flowers they'd brought us to say thank you (they are such lovely people) in a vase, I wrote up a blog post, then made sure Catalog was fully up to date with all the most recent adoptions.
Alison came over with baby Harry, with Becky joining us shortly after, and we had some tea and coffee and chat. Harry had a happy gurgle on my lap, then he decided he wanted to try and stand up (he can do it if you hold him for balance) and roll over. He is so long, he is in 9-12 month babygros. He is only just 6 months old. It's just his torso, which he has inherited from Becky. He gets weighed this week and the nurse might get a surprise!
This afternoon, I spent two hours in the dark on my bed, because my eye looked a bit more inflamed than I would like this morning, and although I wanted to go to the gym, I didn't want to push it. If it is happier tomorrow, I can go.
The 20th of August.
The eye has been quite cooperative today, so I've been outside twice! Madness. I'll probably do a lot of protecting tomorrow.
This morning, I had a chiro appointment that had been postponed from last week, in what was a fortuitous turn of events because my lower back has been really awful in the past few days, making me incapable of even standing up straight in the mornings. Plus my left shoulder blade had started hurting this morning, so it was a very useful time to go! It turned out that the reason I have been finding it difficult with my lower back is because my spine had locked up, so Trine released that, and she gave my shoulder a good crunch so I felt much better having seen her.
After lunch, I went to the gym, where I had a terrible session. Pretty much every machine I wanted was occupied by someone, so my routine was a mess. I lost count of the amount of times I went to see if something was available to be disappointed. I muttered "fuck" under my breath a lot. I finally got on one machine and this guy came over asking if I'd just finished and I said I was just about to start, to which he looked very annoyed and huffed at me before walking away. I was not going to give it up for him. What I have realised is that from two until three seems to be the time for people who have a specific pass to come, which is why it gets so much quieter after then. I think I will be going later from now on and hope I can do what I want!
Mommy got back from Grandma's annual Parkinson's appointment around the same time as Daddy and I, so she told us what had gone on there, then Alison came to ask Mommy something at the same time as Christine rang her mobile phone, so I answered the phone and had a nice chat with my sister for nearly an hour. I mainly told her about kittens and the gym, and she had written two policies today and then she saw some deer on campus! But, as her new policy on animals on campus states, you can't pet the wild animals.
