Documenting not dying since October 2013.

The 24th & 25th; I had to do it EIGHT TIMES.

The 24th of October.

I have been awake for twelve hours and it is only half past five. Even worse, I woke up at twenty past four to pee, bent down to pick up a tissue and hit my head on the oxygen cylinder, so I've been developing a nice bump and bruise on my forehead since then.

I did at least have a reason for waking up at half five - lung function tests at quarter past eight. Ugh. We arrived at hospital slightly early, so I purchased coffee, then it was test time for me. Mommy had to sit and read her book for nearly three hours. I went off with the technician doing my tests, and I ended up spending an hour and a half with her. We got through the first few tests really quickly - I was being very consistent, so only had to do each one a couple of times. However, we got to the last one, and my body decided to do a fluke extra good inhale, which meant (because of maths) that I had to do the first test again. Then, because I was tired, I obviously couldn't get a comparable one, so I had to do it EIGHT TIMES. That is the maximum, so then we gave up.

Well, not entirely. The actual last test is the one in the box. I had put on my special padded pants this morning (yes I bought padded pants okay my butt is bony and it hurts), so I was fully prepared and climbed right in. That one was absolutely fine, so I was finally done!

I think that was about quarter to ten, so then we sat for an hour and a quarter, waiting for Dr. Thompson to be ready for me. He was greatly amused by my having fallen out of the wheelchair, and my bump on the head this morning. He also took a photo of my necklace (you know the one) to send to his daughter because he knew she would enjoy it. My tests were pretty much the same as last time, I don't need to have the pneumonia jab again, and I will see him again in four months!

By the time we got home again, it was lunchtime, and I was actually hungry for once, despite having had a bag of Pom Bears on the way home. After we ate, Mommy pretty much went straight back out to Grandma's because she'd phoned, and I went to see the kittens. They were all very happy to see me because their bed had fallen off its perch so I put it back, then Blanche curled up on my lap and the other two got into bed. I watched the new Riverdale, which was utterly hilarious, and Doom, which was ridiculous but not as amusing. I won't take you through the entire plot of Riverdale because you don't care, but picture Chad Michael Murray in a red, white and blue jumpsuit, ready to board his rocket and that is all you need to know.

I watched Doom because of the blurb: "Dwayne Johnson and Karl Urban lead a squad of space marines on a mission to battle hellish scientific creations on Mars in this gung-ho adaptation of the smash videogame. Screams echo, guns blaze and general mayhem ensues as the diabolical conspiracy is revealed. But oh yeah, it Rocks." All I could want! Safe to say, it did not disappoint, although I do not like it when The Rock is not the hero.

Tonight, Mommy and I are off out to the Old Rep to see Austentatious. I really hope neither of us falls asleep.

The 25th of October.

Fucking hell, my eyes have been irritated since yesterday morning and not even a good hour and a half of Dark Time with ointment has helped.

Austentatious last night was very funny, but we were both exhausted by the time we went to bed and it wasn't even eleven o'clock. I didn't have a lie in, but I did have a small nap during the Dark Time. This morning, having had a surprise cinnamon bun for breakfast, I tried to be kind to my eyes and tried to not look at screens too much, just sat and unravelled another thing to make blankets/other things out of. Today it was a massive chunky scarf, which has come apart into ten balls of wool. Going to get a good few things out of it! Maybe another scarf, just less chunky. If I knit it, it'll be softer. Crochet is quite a stiff medium.

After lunch, which was a bit later than normal because I had to wait for the food shop to be brought home (I wasn't going to not have the pretzel I knew was coming), I went upstairs to lie in the dark. I put some ointment in my left eye, which was being the more difficult one, and listened to a My Dad Wrote A Porno Footnotes and a Last Podcast On The Left Side Stories. I'm pretty sure I fell asleep during the latter, but never mind.

Having come back downstairs, I've had my second Strepsil of the day, because my throat was sore last night and it's still hurting to swallow now. I really do not want to get ill. I can't deal with dodgy eyes and a cough or cold at the same time.
